Community Hospital located in Palmyra, Pennsylvania is a 6 story addition over an existing 3 story section of the hospital. This addition keep up with the standards of acute hospital in its private patient rooms. With this overbuild the totals number private patient rooms will increase allowing for the hospital to seperate itself as one of the primier healthcare facilities. Both the name and location of this facility are fictitious as per the owners request.
Senior Thesis
Senior thesis is a two semester capstone project for all fifth years studying architectural engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. This project allows for students to demonstrate and further develope the skills learned during their five years through extensive research and analysis. This thesis project is a construction driven analysis of a 150,000 SF overbuild of an existing hospital.
CPEP Purpose
The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.
